I am over 25 years old cat.
My hobby is sleeping, sleeping, sleeping and eating delicious meals, and watching birds.
I hate insects! can not stand seeing them...gash!
My master worries about me because I have kidney failure.
So she starts making this page for me..

猫さんの腎不全（慢性/進行性）
猫さんが十歳前後になり患う病気の中で、特に多い病気のひとつ。
-何らかの要因で腎臓が侵され機能障害が進行し許容を超え腎不全に到る。
-腎臓は、私たちが考える以上に強く、臓器全体の3/4ほどが機能障害を起こすまでは
何ら腎機能を維持。目立った症状が現れにくい。
-例えば、赤血球数減少、吐き気、水分摂取の増加、食欲減退などの症状が出れば
進行を意味する事も。
人間ならば人工透析を続けるか腎移植等治療手段があるが、
猫の場合は現在の治癒手段はないに等しい。
医療の発展で新薬等研究はされているそうです。
Description of CRF (also called CRI, Chronic Renal Insufficiency)
Approximately 200,000 tiny structures (nephrons)
in the kidneys eliminate waste products
and regulate electrolytes in the body.
CRF results when these nephrons begin to die off and waste products
and electrolytes can no longer be processed effectively.
The waste then accumulates in the cat's body. In effect,
a cat in CRF is being poisoned by the waste that the kidneys are unable to filter.
Electrolyte imbalances, anemia and blood pressure problems may also
occur as the kidneys continue to deteriorate.

I am so sorry to see the picture of Niki and the flowers. I feel sad.My wife, Keiko, says you must be very, very sad. We know it is difficult.
Maybe Niki died of old age and not from jinzou no biyouki. I never knew a 25 year old cat before. You did a good job to give care to Niki-chan. She had a good old age and enjoyed her long life with you.
Don't worry. One day you will see your Niki again!
